Wake Up!

Kontrapunkt: The Clocks - Wake Up

The Clocks - Wake Up came out in 1981, so this November the song is celebrating it's 29th birthday...which feels plain weird. Just listen.

I like EVERYTHING about this song, which sounds a bit like Telex minus a few drops of the sarcasm.

Phil Gozes, the producer, later worked for Vaya Con Dios. The only reason for me writing this is that although it's completely useless, I like this kind of info. But f**k, listen to the song!

The Clocks 'Wake Up' track 29 years old, absolutely astonishing, if you played someone the long drum break 3/4 of the way through you could convince them it came out last week.

Spot on with the Telex minus the kraftwerkian irony analogy...almost bubblegum synth pop and I mean that in the most respectful way possible...you have some amazing finds on this blog which I imagined involved some deep deep diggin'

Many thanks for sharing them and not adopting the fallacy of the more exposure a track gets the more it gets devalued...infact the opposite occurs, the more people hear the track and link it with the owner and uploader, the more kudos you get personally for discovering it and the more desirable the artefact becomes...just watch the way say the Black Devil 'Disco Club' album increases in value year in year out and thats with a re-issue! The menu is not the meal and the MP3 is not the record!
